More New Ones - Mostly Chick Books

Here are a few more of those new books, mostly chick books - sorry guys.

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson. Following the instructions in 13 sealed envelopes provided by her recently deceased aunt, a 17-year-old sets off for the experience of a lifetime, including travels through Europe, that help her understand both her aunt and herself.

Sold by Patricia McCormick, the author of Cut. When the monsoons in Nepal destroy the crops on 13-year-old Lakshmi's family's farm, her stepfather arranges for her to leave their village to become a maid for a rich lady in the city to pay off the family's debt. Instead Lakshmi is sold into a Calcutta brothel, facing unspeakable cruelty and horror, her memories of home all she has to help her endure.

River Secrets by Shannon Hale is a companion to Goose Girl and Enna Burning. This one features Razo, who is chosen to accompany the king's guard on an ambassadorial mission. Razo must hone his skills as a soldier, spy, and diplomat to head off a plot to create war between two countries and meets a woman who controls water in a way similar to Enna's talents with fire.
